Having a backup or redundant IT service solution and business continuity plan in place before a disaster occurs can reduce the amount of time you may be affected. Similar to implementing a redundant network connection, secondary server resources can be leveraged during normal period of operations and improve day-to-day performance, as well as serve as a backup solutions. Implementing a secondary server is a win-win situation, as it can provide you with more processing power and allow you to continue operating your business should an interruption occur.
  • Backup Data Storage – In an enterprise, because the loss of business data can be catastrophic, it is important that a backup storage solution is in place. Backups have two distinct purposes. The primary purpose is to recover data after its loss, be it by data deletion or corruption. The secondary purpose of backups is to recover data from an earlier time, according to a customer-defined data retention policy, typically configured within a backup application for how long copies of data are stored.
